And the door was kicked open again as a part of the exhibition Listening to Voices directs toward examining the history of the collapse of certain industries in Central and Eastern Europe and its wider social and environmental impacts.

Heavy, metal arches are reminiscent of modern, industrial machinery. Placed on the walls one after another underline the possibility of an infinite sequence of repetition. Fragments of leather garments present in Anitya’s were transformed into visceral and vegetal forms resembling uncanny plants, hypertrophies and other inexplicable monstrosities. They spring up from the metal tables similar to rickety structures of drilling platforms or ancient fortifications. The composition might suggest that, even in extremely hostile environments, particles of life can survive continuing the infinite process of renewal and circulation of matter. This kind of plot is also present in the series of Thistle Mirrors, in which thistle plants motifs cutted in the steel cover a canvas-like sculptural objects. The thistles characterised by leaves with sharp prickles on the margins are known to be some of the most resistant plants, able to adapt to difficult environmental conditions. Indeed, they often cover post-industrial sites and ruins of abandoned buildings.
